Men's Flannel Shirt

A proper brushed flannel in a navy, grey and red windowpane plaid. The cloth is napped on both faces, which is what gives flannel its soft hand and its warmth — the raised fibres trap air rather than relying on thickness. The plaid is woven into the cloth, not printed on top of it, so the pattern runs right through and does not fade off the surface.

Both chest pockets are the real thing: box-pleated flap pockets, each closed with a single antique-finish button, matched across the plaid so the pattern lines up over the pocket. The collar is a standard point collar that sits up under a jacket, the placket is topstitched, and the cuffs are single-button with an adjustment button further up the sleeve.

The cut is relaxed enough to wear open over a tee as a shirt-jacket, which is how most people will use it, and trim enough to button up on its own. For autumn through early winter, over a tee or under a coat. Machine wash cold and tumble dry low; brushed cotton softens further with every wash.
